Ukwa youths want army to vacate Abia school

A youth group which advocates the cause of Ukwa people in Abia State known as Joint Youth Council of Ukwa, has called for the immediate vacation of their major secondary school occupied by the military since the anti- kidnapping campaign in 2010 .
The group in a communiques after its special congress held Wednesday at Umuebulungwu- Asa, Ukwa West Local Government Area, strongly condemned what it called the “unjust relocation of the prestigious Asa High School to a mere primary school block and the premises turned to a military barracks.”
The youths also complained against marginalisation of the Ukwa people in the political equation of Abia state, arguing that it would only amount to injustice to sideline the only oil – producing councils in the state.
