Former Gov's Audu's wife contests against husband in Kogi guber after getting kicked out of matrimonial home in America

MRS. Aisha Elejo Audu, wife of former Kogi State Governor, Prince Abubakar Audu, has joined the gubernatorial race on the platform of the Justice Party (JP). Her husband is the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) candidate for the December 3, 2011 polls.
Declaring her candidacy yesterday in Abuja, Mrs. Audu said the time had come for women to bring what she termed "the desired change" in Kogi. She added that the state could not continue to be dragged behind by its past leaders, who she accused of wasting the enormous resources of the state.
Mrs. Audu said she was offering herself to the people of the state for a new deal and total change from the past.
The aspirant, who also is an environmental activist and founder of National Sustainable Development Campaign for Peace, Security, Good Governance and Democracy, promised to fight poverty, illiteracy and underdevelopment in the state if voted into office.
